History
Since 1964, The Assistance League to the Northeast Guidance Center
(ALNEGC), a non-profit auxiliary, has supported and enhanced related
health care services provided by the Northeast Guidance Center and
other area agencies. These services impact high-risk children and
adults on Detroit's Eastside, in the five Grosse Pointe municipalities
and Harper Woods, Michigan.
Our goals are achieved primarily through the provision of volunteer
and financial assistance and the promotion of community support for
the Northeast Guidance Center and other community organizations.
Over more than 44 years, the ALNEGC has contributed over five million
dollars to the NEGC. A substantial portion comes from the fact that
we are priviliged to be one of the 12 charities to benefit from the
Detroit Auto Dealers Association's North American International Auto
Show Charity Preview Party.
Our membership represents a wide range
of ages, professional backgrounds and interests. Together, we devote
our time and talent to a variety of annual fundraising events, such
as the North American International Auto Show Charity Preview, progressive
dinner parties, wine tastings, raffles and other successful benefits.
Many events offer unique opportunities for the entire family to pitch-in
and learn the value of volunteerism.
Individuals seeking a hands-on approach may become involved in the
ALNEGC´s Service Projects including the Educational Family Fun Fair,
the Consumer Christmas Party and the Adopt a Family Program.
