Christmas Stocking Project

What a great holiday service project! Each year, the ALNEGC looks for help from area schools, churches, Scout troops and community organizations to help fill a large number of Christmas stockings with small gifts. Providing young people and families with a hands-on opportunity to make the season special for those who are less fortunate is a wonderful way to balance the holiday experience and foster a lifetime commitment to the community.

Stockings obtained through the ALNEGC can be decorated then filled with donated gifts, including: personal hygiene items (combs, toothbrushes, chapstick, hair ribbons, etc.), clothes (socks, mittens, headbands, etc.), toys (crayons, dolls, puzzles, stuffed toys, etc.), and extras (candy canes, gum, pencils, and markers, etc).

Each stocking should be marked for the appropriate age and gender before they are distributed by the NEGC staff. Most of the stockings are given to the NEGC children by Santa at the NEGC's Consumer Christmas Party. Others are distributed to NEGC children by the NEGC staff.
